promote other aspects of art by having booths with exhibits. Activity booths will include painting, voice,
crafting, and photography. Attracting around 300 attendees each year, Dancing
in the Park also celebrates National Dance Day.
Upon it’s creation years ago the event just happened to coincide with the first National Dance Day
and has been held that day annually ever since to join with dancers of every
background across the nation to celebrate the creativity of dance. National Dance Day was created by Nigel
Lythgoe, executive producer and judge for the television series, So You Think You Can Dance, for the
purpose of encouraging Americans to embrace dance as a fun way to maintain good
health and fight obesity. Click here to learn the official 2016 National Dance Day Routine.
