Dancing in the Park
First celebrated in 2010, first started the event to memorialize KMG Creations owner and dance instructor, Kayla Marie's sister and niece.
This event promotes healthy living through dance and other forms of movement for all ages. Various Mississippi artists will incorporate various styles of dancing, including International dance performances. Dancing in the Park was created by KMG Creations owner Kayla Gilmore to memorialize her sister and niece, Alecia & Brandie Tyler-Gilmore. Alecia and Brandie lost their lives in an auto accident June 2007. They were Kayla’s greatest supporters throughout her career.

Upon it’s creation years ago the event just happened to coincide with the first National Dance Day and has been held that day annually ever since to join with dancers of every background across the nation to celebrate the creativity of dance. National Dance Day was created by Nigel Lythgoe, executive producer and judge for the television series, So You Think You Can Dance, for the purpose of encouraging Americans to embrace dance as a fun way to maintain good health and fight obesity.
